After reading the article stating the benefits of coming to Russia, you have probably noticed that this country consists of numerous fantastic cities with a great and interesting story: the cities and towns of “Golden ring”, “Silver ring” and the ones that are on the way of Trans-Siberian routes.
The easiest and, what is more important, safest way of traveling in Russia is by train. Such type of a transport will inspire you by spectacular views and enthralling conversations with your train-companions.
Of course, you can buy tickets through Russian monopolist RZD, that have an English version of the website, but the process of paying for the tickets may be problematic as they are not working with some payment systems and banks. Fortunately, glad-to-meet-you.com website attracted attention of an award-winning company Real Russia (a company that created a full clear way of working with travelers’ needs (that goes for train tickets purchase as well as for providing tourist invitations for Russian visas) and since then it became possible to show their easy forms on this website.

Live Russian Train Schedules
If you are interested in booking a train journey in Russia, the CIS countries or beyond, but you are not sure on which day you would like to travel, then the ‘Train Schedule’ tool is here to help.
By selecting your month of travel and your desired departure and arrival points, you can see on what days trains will be running and at what time. From here you can then proceed to book the most convenient train with the minimal of fuss.
It might be helpful to remember that the ticket prices may be cheaper the further you book into the future.
Domestic and CIS Rail Ticket Booking Engine
This system is ideally suited for those who simply want to travel from one city to another as an individual journey, or perhaps as a return journey; such as between Moscow and Saint Petersburg. This process is not recommended if customers are planning to book multi-segment journeys along the Trans-Siberian, as it can be long and laborious. For this we have designed the Trans-Siberian Journey Planner (see it under this section).
To start planning your journey, please select your departure and arrival points, as well as your date of travel, from the search engine and press ‘Search for available trains’. You will then be able to select from any of the available trains and ticket classes before entering your passenger details.
*As far as I know foreign travelers prefer buying “Плацкарт” (economy class) type of car instead of “Купе” (compartment) for short-term trips, because there are no locked doors and are a lot of people around. From my point of view this is a good benefit, but you should also know that the upper seats are fairly uncomfortable and that there is only two doors (one from each side) between cars and the WC…
*While choosing the trains, you may seem the name of the train “Фирменный” or “Firmenniy”, which means a branded name – usually these trains are newer and faster. The photo of the train on the top of this article is a “Firmenniy” one.
If you are booking within 45 days of the date of travel we will then take payment for your ticket. If you select any form of Electronic Ticketing, this will be issued, and emailed to you, within 24 hours. The delivery time for paper tickets may vary dependent on the delivery option selected.
If you are booking more than 45 days before the date of travel we will save your details and contact you shortly before the 45 day window to confirm the ticket price and take payment. We will then book the ticket at the first available opportunity, 45 days before travel.
Trans-Siberian Journey Planner
Travelling throughout Russia and along the Trans-Siberian railway is a unique experience, and is one of the only ways to get a true feel for the real Russia. From European Russia in the west, through the plains, steppes and forests of Siberia to the Gobi desert and Russia’s Far East, travelling by train will ensure you miss none of the incredible variety of flora and fauna that you would travelling 30,000 ft in the air.
Travelling by train will also allow you to visit some of the lesser known towns and cities of Russia, giving you a unique insight into one of the most enigmatic countries in the world. You may also be lucky enough to share cabins with a variety of locals, and perhaps even join them in breaking bread, sharing few glasses of the most famous of Russian beverages, playing cards and\or domino.
My partner, Real Russia company, created rail ticket booking system in order to help take away the hassles of organizing this incredible adventure, ensuring your dream does not become a logistical nightmare!
If you are planning on making multiple journeys along the routes of the Trans-Siberian, Trans-Mongolian or Trans-Manchurian, journey planner will be a great helper for making this dream a reality.
Trans-Siberian Journey Planner covers all three of the Trans-Siberian routes; the Trans-Russian (Moscow <-> Vladivostok), Trans-Mongolian (Moscow <-> Beijing, via Ulan Bator) and Trans-Manchurian (Moscow <-> Beijing, via the Manchuria region). It can be used for much shorter routes though, where several journeys are likely to be taken one after the other along these routes.
By selecting which of these historic, and world famous, routes you will be travelling along, when you would like to begin, and where your departure and destination points are, you will be taken to a list of cities between those two points. You will then be able to select which cities along the way you would like to stop off at as well as how long you would like to stay there. The system will then suggest trains for each section of the journey based on your initial date of travel.
There really is no easier way to tailor your own Trans-Siberian adventure!
If you are travelling through Mongolia or China your tickets may not be issued until 15 – 20 days before the date of travel. In either case you will need to collect your tickets, or have them delivered to a local hotel. Upon recieval of your data, Real Russia travel specialists will contact you with further details upon booking.
